A snapshot of a little getaway no so far from home. Most days involved a quad bike, gumboots, and my camera to explore country I thought I knew really well. Freedom really is being able to be yourself, explore, dream, set your own schedule and take the time to see what's right in front of you. This place is where Adrian was raised and is instrumental to him being the resilient, dreaming, creative and strong gentleman he is today.

Heleana is a force of nature. The founder of In Venus Veritas and The Petrolette, and a co-founder of Rising Sun Workshop. Heleana shares her love of vintage cars, riding motorcycles, and (not-so-secretly) dreams of flying planes and piloting a riva aquariva (a la Sophia Loren) very fast through the canals of Venice. Supportive and connected, community is her lifeblood, and she is as real as they come.

HANGING OUT IN A HANGAR: Basair Sydney

Basair is a base for many starting their journey into aviation, whether they have their sights on recreational flying through to commercial and aerobatic aspirations. From the outside, the sleepy airport (being 8am on a weekend) was really unassuming, but stepping past the gate and into the hanger, I forgot to breathe as I was hit with the possibility of this expansive airport.

KDQ in the AMERICAS!

Photographer (and all round legend) Kate Disher-Quill is currently on a solo adventure through the USA and Mexico. Readers will know her work well, it's ALL over this website. So when she asked if there were any women she could capture for IVV while on her trip... trying to contain my excitement and not fill her trip with women was a challenge!

In-VEST-ed

Maybe I've been living in a bubble (okay, highly likely I've been living in a bubble), but I had never thought to look for a leather vest for riding. The association with leather vests and motorcycles, in my mind, is not really high on the fashion stakes. They're usually badass, patched with a hoodie under and sometimes a fringe to boot... but Lindsay has shone a new light on this bit of gear.

Custom Yamaha XJR1300 by RB Racing

When Harley Borkowski from RB Racing asked me to photograph his custom Yamaha XJR1300…  I couldn’t say no. Harley is a well-respected builder, racer and mechanic in Sydney. He is one of the few professionals I know who sits comfortably in between the custom culture scene and the hi-performance sports bike scene and his take on the XJR is performance based, aesthetically purposeful and discreet.
