THROTTLE ROLL: Sydney 2015

For the uninitiated, Throttle Roll, in its third year running, is a street style party that celebrates all things happening in custom motorcycle building, from the backyard to the professional workshop. Since the first year, the crowd has grown, the bike selection has grown, the sponsorship variety has grown but the best thing? Free entry!

The weekend long event started with an incredible turn out for the ride through National Park and coastal road south of Sydney, before crowding the urban streets of Enmore to some well deserved tinnies. It was brilliant to see so many more woman on the ride and at the event this year with forces like The Throttle Dolls, The Foxy Fuellers and many other individual riders helping dilute the usual sausage fest.

The event was punctuated by live music and a motorcycle giveaway (!!) a joined effort between Throttle Roll organisers, Sol Invictus Motorcycle Co. donating the bike, and Adrian and Dan from Rising Sun Workshop turning the 250cc Mercury motorcycle into the "Mercurial" with scrambler intentions.

Personally? I'm fried from two weeks of motorcycle events including the Deus Bike Build Off and Throttle Roll to name a few... but we're only half way into May Motorcycle Madness. Like with any month of showing off builds... it gives one something to aspire to. Maybe a female led build for next year? Hmmmm...

Heleana is a force of nature. The founder of In Venus Veritas and The Petrolette, and a co-founder of Rising Sun Workshop. Heleana shares her love of vintage cars, riding motorcycles, and (not-so-secretly) dreams of flying planes and piloting a riva aquariva (a la Sophia Loren) very fast through the canals of Venice. Supportive and connected, community is her lifeblood, and she is as real as they come.
